Then my new book BALANCING THE SCALES, the first book in my new BRITS IN MANHATTAN series, is for you!
Each book in the BRITS IN MANHATTAN series is a standalone, written primarily from the POV of a male New Yorker. The books follow different but connected couples.
In BALANCING THE SCALES, you will meet hotshot Manhattan attorney, Drew Harrington, and Becky Fletcher, a patisserie chef who will leave you craving more of her tantalising desserts.
Why did I focus on a Brits in Manhattan theme? That’s easy. I’m a Brit and I love Manhattan.
BALANCING THE SCALES allowed me to bring together many things I love. I got to play around the with male voice, which I have so much fun writing. I was able to give Drew a glossier legal career than my own. Becky is a top patisserie chef, which meant I got to salivate at my laptop whilst writing about her incredible desserts. And, crucially, I got to visit Manhattan for the first time all over again, through the eyes of British Becky.
On a recent trip to New York, I stopped off at some of the places that inspired BALANCING THE SCALES.
A HOTSHOT MANHATTAN ATTORNEY
Lexington Avenue is the home of Statham Turner, the law firm Drew is desperate to become named partner of. If he can only prove he has a more human side.
A SWEETHEART OF A BRITISH PATISSERIE CHEF
I stopped by one of New York’s patisseries selling decadent cakes, like Becky’s.
ONE FATEFUL MEETING AT A BAGEL CART
Where every good romance begins… A meet cute at a bagel cart in the city. The place where Drew’s impatience and stroppy foot tapping bring out the sass in Becky that he just can’t stop thinking about.
THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING
Talk about romantic! I can’t wait for you all to swoon over the scene with Drew and Becky at the top of the Empire State Building.

Because Becky is a tourist. But it also leads to a game changing weekend.
