Jaden Barker is a good boy.
For as long as he can remember, he’s been preparing for the day he’ll be called as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He’s ready. He’s more than willing. And he can’t wait to spend the next two years serving the Lord and his church. But when a new proclamation from the church is announced, it leaves him questioning everything.
Quinn Owens is trouble with a capital T.
An aspiring actor living in the bowels of Los Angeles, he’s fought long and hard to get where he is, and he’s not willing to give it up for anything. Working for a homophobic boss presents quite a challenge when you’re a gay man, but Quinn knows losing this job means losing his dream.
Jaden is lost and confused.
Quinn won’t let anything stand in his way.
But when Jaden finds himself living downstairs from the enticing Quinn, neither are prepared for what happens next.
Will Jaden be able to resist Quinn’s charms and remain a devoted Mormon missionary? Or will he fall, finding himself face to face with losing his religion?

Losing My Religion by A.S. Tucker is a standalone novel that i feel will always stay with me. The cover is what initially drew me in, absolutely stunning but then when i read the blurb i new i had to read this book. This book is a controversial thought provoking read that will pull on your heart strings and at parts angered me because of bigoted views.
Jaden is a man of faith, his whole life he has followed the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints he loves his family and never wants to disappoint. Recently his has begun to question certain aspects of his religion. Never seeming happy with the responses he receives from his church he is within two minds when he sets off on his missionary work. Hoping that once he settles into his mission work his mind and thoughts will become clearer. But he never bargained on meeting his person and that person to Quinn
Quinn Owens is the total opposite from Jaden, he's sassy, carefree and openly gay except when it comes to his evening bar job he has to hide who he truly is due to his bigoted jackass of a boss. That man made my blood boil even more than the church views. He's an aspiring actor and works hard to make ends meet. Life is a struggle but he has chosen his path and is working towards his goals that is until one day when he receives a knock on his door and the man who stares back at him floors him.
I really enjoyed the slow build to Jaden and Quinn's relationship, it was exactly what the story needed i think if they had meet and just got straight to it it wouldn't have made the story believable. The emotions and strength Jaden and Quinn went through you felt with every word written. This story is definitely and emotional and inspiring read to always be who you are.
"God didn't forsake me just because i happened to fall in love with another man. If anything, He blessed me. That man in the other room is the best thing that has ever happened to me. He shows me what it means to be loved. And to love someone else in return. And that... that is the real meaning of life."
I loved this read with passion i'll be honest i really wasn't expecting it to effect me as much as it did. The words the story the emotions weather good or bad left me not being able to put this book down. I would highly recommend this read.
