Winnifred Holyfield's life has taken a dramatic turn. From having what she thought was a good life, healthy, with two children, a loving husband who's with the police force and job she loved.
She finds herself divorced after finding out her husband has been cheating. Suffering a severe health issue, her kids rebelling because of all the changes. Moving to her friends vacant house and trying to make meets end. She's at the lowest point of her life she misses having somebody who has her back. When her hot new neighbor, silverfox, Steel Cross see's her struggling and offers her support. She can't believe that he would ever be interested in someone so broken.
Big Papa aka Steel, is the chief of police, the president of Dixie Warden Rejects. He has his son, family and friends and that’s all he needs, or so he thinks. When his and Winnie's paths keep crossing, his world is turned a little upside down. Between her kids and what he’s learned about her and her douchebag ex, he can’t walk away. Of course life throws everything it can at them but they are strong enough to get through it.
Steel is hot as sin, a older man with a heart of gold. Winnie and Steel were just drawn to each other, their chemistry was through the roof. For my first read of Lani's i really enjoyed this book and will most definitely be checking more of her books out.
