I shouldn’t have remembered him.
He was just a guy who walked through a restaurant. I didn't know his name. We never made eye contact. There was no connection between us at all.
But I could feel him.
The tingle down my spine. The command in his presence. The snap of tension in the air around him. That was the first time I saw him, and I was captivated.
The second time was different.
He was in the mysterious back elevator of my apartment building. Our eyes met for a fleeting second before the doors closed, and I was staggered. My breath was robbed. My senses on high alert. My body hummed.
That was just the beginning.
He was the leader of the mafia. I was about to fall in love with him, and his name…
Cole Mauricio
REVIEW:
There isn't a book that Tijan has wrote that hasn't disappointed me and now i get to add Cole to the collection of great reads.
Addison lost her husband in a tragic car accident which she was witness too. How do you move forward from something so horrific. The thing is i don't think you ever do, you learn to adapt to your life as it is. But it's still a life worth living yes you mourn the loss but you still have to live. The reason i say this is i think for some the may find it hard that Addison could move on from the loss of her husband. Addison is plagued by the memories of her husband and decides she needs to move. And her friend has just the place in mind.
"The Mauricio"
The place is as high end as it can be with only a few residents and a very reclusive owner.
When Addison meets the reclusive resident she instantly feels a connection and that he is a dangerous man but there is also a calm when she's around him that she can't understand and he has a pull that she just can't deny try as she might.
"He had power over me, and none of this made sense. He'd branded me, claiming me."
Cole is very honest when it comes to her even though he can't tell her everything and she knows he's keeping something from her. He's still honest about that. When the truth comes out of who Cole really is and its quite a spectacular moment believe me. Addison has to make a decision....

"He isn't in the Mafia, he is the Mafia."
This story just got better and better, with twists, turns and surprises along away. It was gritty, intriguing and suspenseful but there was also vulnerability & love it also gave you hope that there is life and love after loss.
"I choose. I choose you."
There is so much more a could say about this read but i'm not spoiling to much of this for the reader. Tijan is always an author i look out for and can't wait for the next book to come out.
