I love sports romances especially hockey
ones. I don't know why as i'm a brit! and Ice Hockey isn't really a big sport over here but i love it. Toni Aleo's Assassins series is one of my favourite's. So when i heard Toni was going to be writing a book for the Misadventures series i couldn't wait.
Gus is playing in the AHL waiting to be called up to the NHL. He's known for his playboy ways and really does live up to his reputation. That is until a certain red headed ice girl catches his eye. Setting his sights on here becomes more of a challenge for him, especially when she so much as give him her name!!
Bo is working as an ice girl at the hockey rink while she's attending physical therapy school. Bo knows that Gus is attracted to her, he's making his play very obvious but Bo isn't interested. She's trying to get through school and she's not interested in a relationship, especially with a rookie that she sees as a showboating, obnoxious player.
Gus - whose nickname is 'the Bus' - has deserved at least part of this reputation. He's been pretty much a "one and done" guy. Until Bo he's fascinated with her and the chemistry between the two of them is electric. He has to have her but he also knows that he just doesn't want a "one and done". He wants more with this feisty, sassy girl that he can't stop thinking about.
There's plenty of humour, within this read which i love in Toni Aleo's writing. And while Bo's secret was easily guessed, it still kept my interest up to the very end. And i have to say Gus's relationship with his parents was wonderful and hilarious!! Misadventures with a Rookie is great Addition to this series of books.
