Absolutely Amazing book but we are talking about the Queen herself K.C. Lynn freaking awesome Author!!! If you haven't had the utter pleasure of being sucked into K.C. Lynn's world then i would say your missing something truly beautiful. And although this is a standalone i would Highly recommend that you read The Men Of Honor Series and Acts Of Honor series which this is the Third book in this series, as characters from the previous books are mentioned and why would you want to deprive yourself the pleasure, one word SAWYER!!!!

This is Kolan Slade's story and what a story we got from this dark, broken, brooding alpha male. He's broken because of his past, having to deal with a very hard child hood protecting the only person he has every loved and feel that love from was his sister. Fighting is what he's had to do all his life so moving into fighting for a career was natural. But when your at the top of your game someone is always trying to bring you down. In trying to destroy Kolan's career and reputation he decides to retire from the EFC and start teaching self-defence classes at the Men Of Honor gym.

Sophie Parish is on the run leaving everything she loved behind fearing for her life and not wanting to endanger anyone connected to her, changing her identity and finding herself in another new town working for the local sheriffs department. It's not the life she wanted dancing was the life she dreamed off but leaving everything behind included that. Needing to do something Sophie decides to start self-defence classes this is where she meets Kolan needing one on one classes. The connection and chemistry is instant but fear on both parts leads to trust issues. Can Kolan open up to another, with his needing control doesn't make relationships easy. Can Sophie put her trust in Kolan and share her secret.

K.C. Lynn creates amazing characters and some of the best ones are the children and in this book we meet Benny now this kid stole my heart he made me laugh and cry for him. I love her fun loving cheeky characters.

An Act Of Obsession kept me on the edge of my seat with just enough angst off the charts hot chemistry with two damaged people drawing strength from each other. I loved catching up with gang and meeting new characters and couldn't get enough, now i'm desperate for the next K.C. Lynn book!!

Reaching my SUV, I place her feet on the ground and cage her against the passenger door, bracing both my hands on either side of her head. “And what about you, Lia?” I ask, dipping my head in close to hers. “Hmm? You know my secrets. What about yours?”

She might not know all of mine but she knows enough.

“What is it you want to know?” she asks, a slight tremble in her voice.

“I want to know who you are and where you came from. But more than anything, I want to know what you’re hiding under that scarf.”

The stark pain that enters her eyes strikes me to my fucking core. “Trust me, you don’t want to see what’s under there. I can’t even bear to look at it myself.”

“Nothing scares me.”

It’s a complete lie. She scares the hell out of me.

A heavy silence descends upon us, her pretty eyes wide and fearful.

“What are you so afraid of?” I ask.

Her breath hitches, emotion shining bright in her gaze. “Everything.”

There’s so much despair in that one word that I want to fucking kill whoever put it there. Unable to resist, I gently drop my forehead on hers, my jaw locking as I restrain myself from doing what I really want to do.

“I’m going to respect your privacy…for now. But one day, you’re going to tell me who made you so afraid. And if they’re still breathing—they won’t be for much longer.”

Her eyes fall closed, lip trembling as she tries to shield her pain from me. “Some secrets, Kolan, are best left unknown.”

“Not between us. The day will come when there will be no more secrets between us.”

Her eyes open, locking with mine, but she remains silent. I press my lips to her forehead then reach for the door handle. “Come on. Let’s go home.”
