Release Date: April 25, 2017

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Score and Midnight Revenge...

Four years ago, Cate’s entire life changed when she discovered she was the daughter of a supersoldier. But Jim Morgan’s overprotectiveness has pushed her away. These days, she’s working as a freelance photographer and living the dangerous life Jim never wanted for her.

When Cate snaps a photo linking a corrupt South American politician with the leader of a notorious drug cartel, her mercenary father leads a team to rescue her—only to get shot and critically wounded in the process.

As Morgan’s operatives rally together on a revenge mission, they’re faced with new alliances and old heartaches. Cate is forced to work with David “Ash” Ashton, the man who broke her heart two years ago, while Liam Macgregor and Sullivan Port resurface after years apart to finally try to deal with everything they’d left unsaid.

Soon it’s all-out war between the cartel and the mercenaries—with two couples caught in the middle of the blood feud. Love and redemption are within their reach...but first they have to make it home alive.

Midnight Target is the eighth instalment of the Killer Instinct series by Elle Kennedy. I'll be honest when i picked this book i didn't realise it was part of a series and boy have i missed out because this book packed an action filled punch. So i'll definitely will be getting the first seven books as i am more than intrigued about their stories. That being said even though this isn't a standalone it can be read as a standalone i didn't feel lost or confused just intrigued.

Cate Morgan has been in love with David "Ash" Ashton since she was seventeen years old. But being the bosses daughter and an eight year age gap. Has Ash doing what he see's as the respectful and honourable thing and never see what could become of them together. He respects her father and feels that he's no good for her, that she needs a normal life not being with somebody that faces danger life with a mercenary is not what either her father or Ash want for her. So even though he's in love with her he pushes her away.

Cate knows how her father feels and knows that Ash is doing what he thinks is best, she just wishes that he take that leap with her. She's spent to many years being under her grandfathers lock and key. That she wants adventure and excitement and she wants that with Ash and try as she might she just can't seem to get through to him. That is until Cate's job lands her in some very dangerous hot water and nothing will stop Ash from protecting her!!

Along with Cate and Ash's story we get Liam Macgregor and Sullivan Port's story now i'm i lover of M/M reads and for me i wish this couple would have had there own book. These two had amazing chemistry Liam and Sully were best friends and shared everything but one night when things got hotter than they expected and lines began to blur, they both went running scared. With Sully having had some serious issues to recover from after an op went wrong which lead to Sully being held captive. They have not seen each other in a couple of years. But now they have to come together to help their old team and will have to finally face each other, their attraction, and their feelings once and for all.

Elle Kennedy has written a suspenseful, tense, emotional, action-packed ride of a read. With some humour and plenty of steamy romance. And i loved it!!
