Release Blitz - Mended Hearts by M.E. Gordon

Mended Hearts
by
M.E. Gordon

Elizabeth:

My heart had just been splintered by the man I thought I was in love with. Betrayed by one, mislead by another. My twisted, triangle of a nightmare was over. It should be a walk in the park now…right? That’s what I thought when the clock struck twelve. I was in the arms of the man I knew I should be with, and I was ready for a new year, a new me, and a new love. But this wasn’t the fairy tale I thought it was going to be. I’d stepped into a completely new field, and it wasn’t full of daisies. It was a field of landmines, secrets, lies, and more heartbreak. Is any of this worth saving?

Simon:

I love her. That’s never going to stop, and I don’t want it to. I’ll make her see…

All about me in Five Questions or less

Question 1 – What makes you, you?

What makes me, me? Well, I was born and raised in Central Maryland. I now live with my wonderful husband and four, energetic children. My day to day consists of getting kids ready for school, answering e-mails, writing, editing, and making breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Writing has always been a passion of mine. My grandmother gave me my first journal when I was in the third grade. I wrote in it almost every day, and I still try to write in it as often as I can. Before I started my first novel and became a stay at home mom, I worked in daycare. I loved it! Never a dull moment when you have 15 kids running around!

Question 2- When you don’t have your ‘Mom hat’ or ‘Author hat’ on, what are your interests?

I love going to the movies, whether it be with my husband or friends. I get pretty jazzed about good movies. I love them all; romantic, suspense, action. I don’t do scary though, unless I’m at home snuggled on the couch next to my hubby with a blanket over my head.
Go figure, I love reading! I really like romantic novels, but I also dabble in Young Adult. Potter and Everdeen are some of my favorites, hell I’ll admit it, I even liked Twilight, before the movie.

Question 3 – Describe your writing set up?

When I write, I have to have music on. I have a playlist for each of my stories. Without music, I just can’t write. I also like to be in the dark, with only a small lamp and computer screen to light my way. I have a journal for each novel that I jot down future ideas in about the storyline, character descriptions, and words I want to incorporate. I’d be lost without my journals; I carry them around with me everywhere. You never know when an idea is going to pop in your head! A large glass of ice water is also a must have, unless it’s one of those days then a cup of coffee is on the menu. I’m sure all you Moms out there know what I’m talking about!

Question 4 – Boxers or Briefs for your hunky heroes?

Boxer-briefs! Best of both worlds? … I think so! Oh and they’re always black!

Question 5 – Who inspires you to write?

Who inspires me to write? Honestly, I write for the women like me who want to be able to picture themselves as the heroine. All too often, the leading lady is someone who’s unattainable for most. The tall, thin, long-legged, beauty or the petite, slender girl next door who happens to also be drop dead gorgeous. Those women are usually frail and sometimes, not much is going on upstairs. I try to write about, real, strong women who tell it like it is. For instance, we all know that most of us wear spanks when we go out to a club. Suck it in, stand up straight and don’t sit down, unless you’re behind a table. These are the things that constantly go through your head. I want my readers to be able to put themselves in my heroines place. What would you do if a really hot guy was dancing with you? Pray your rolls aren’t showing? Chin up to hide any chance of showing a double one? Arch your back to show off ‘assets’ you think are better than others? Maybe even move his hands just so he won’t feel that extra cushion?
Although I have written a few stories with a typical heroine and don’t get me wrong, I love them and they are ‘real’ in their own way, just not physically. Those stories were easy to write because they didn’t have body issues or insecurities, they didn’t have to worry about ‘sucking it in’ or ‘muffin tops’. Now, I wouldn’t call my heroines plus size, I call them real, real girls/women who love themselves, but are still aware that they aren’t that Victoria Secret model. I find it challenging and exciting to write about curvy women and all the little things that come along with it. It’s not easy and sometimes I think that it’d be easier to follow suit and write about idealistic women, but in a way, we all are and we all need that one heroine to look up to and I hope that my leading ladies, curvy or otherwise, fulfill that need for someone.

I'd love to hear from new and old friends!

Release Boost & Giveaway - Rogue Love by Michelle St. James

Title: Rogue Love
Series: Kings of Corruption #1
Author: Michelle St. James
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: March 21, 2017

Blurb

FBI agent Braden Kane has been going it alone ever since a family scandal sent him running straight from the Ivy League into Special Forces. That’s where he learned the hardest lesson of all — we’re all alone in the end. And nobody can save us.

When a raid goes terribly wrong, walking out is almost instinctual. Following the rules is for suckers. There’s only one way to get things done, and that’s to do it off the books. By the time he walks out, he knows there’s only one thing he’ll miss.

Her.

Nora Murphy never really had a choice. Law enforcement was in her blood.

Raised by an old-school Irishman in a houseful of brothers, she learned early on there was only one way to survive.

Be stronger. Be smarter. Be better.

A devastating personal loss only made it easier to focus on the things that made sense. There was no room for romance. And certainly no room for love. Which made tabling her attraction to friend and fellow agent Braden Kane a no-brainer. But Braden’s defection from the FBI opens the door to their relationship in a new and surprising way. Nora’s still getting her head around the possibilities when she’s assigned an important case involving a string of high-profile crimes. She can’t wait to bring down the ring of brash vigilantes — until a shocking connection to Braden reveals itself in in the middle of their burgeoning affair.

Now they’re on opposite sides of law and order. But can either of those things compete with love?

Excerpt

He shut the door, watched her walk into the open living room. She made her way to the big window that offered up a prime water view during the day. The lights from the walk street outside lit up her face; the high cheekbones, full mouth, heart-shaped face.

She turned to look at him. “What are you doing?”

“Watching you.”

She shrugged a little. “Why?”

There was so much honesty in the question. Like she really didn’t know why he would want to look at her.

Like she really didn’t know how beautiful she was.

He pushed off the door, walked slowly toward her, stopping when only an inch separated their bodies. He reached down, lay his palm against her cheek, rubbed his thumb against her skin.

“Because for years I’ve had to sneak glimpses of you. And now I want to really see you.”

She was breathing heavy as he looked down at her, a flush spreading from her cheeks to the barely-visible cleavage under her black T-shirt. “I want to see you too.”

“You’re going to see me, Nora.” He lowered his head, stopping when his lips were almost touching hers. “And you’re going to feel me, too.”

He pressed his mouth to hers, slipped his tongue inside as he angled his head, already needing to take the kiss deep. Needing to taste every inch of her mouth, to prove to himself that she was real.

That this was real.

Her hands slid around his waist, traveled up his back as she pressed herself against him. The feel of her stomach against his rigid cock sent a shockwave of desire through him. It blocked out everything else, and for a long moment he was lost to the sensation of her mouth, the warmth of her body, separated from his only by the thin layer of clothes. He already knew what it would feel like to sink into her, to feel her smoothness under him as he took her.

Her hands came back around to his chest, traveling over his pecs, down to his stomach as she kissed him feverishly, matching the urgency of his tongue stroke for stroke. He growled when she flattened her hand against the bulge in his pants, her small palm cupping the erection that had been torturing him for the last two hours.

Hell, for the last five years.

He took hold of her wrist, not trusting himself under her touch. “I’ve waited years for this moment, Nora. And if you touch me I won’t be able to wait a second longer.”

She looked up into his eyes. “I don’t care.”

“I care.” He swept her into his arms, surprised by how light she was. She was so formidable at work. A warrior. But he’d always suspected she was all softness and warmth underneath it all.

Now he was ready to find out.

He made his way through the dark apartment, down the hall, and into the bedroom. He set her on the bed, then turned to open the windows, letting in a gust of salty air on the night breeze. He turned to look at her, sitting on the edge of the bed.

Waiting for him.

“Take off your clothes, Nora.”

She lifted her chin, leaned back on the bed, propping herself up on her forearms. “Take them off yourself.”

He stalked slowly toward her, wishing her defiance wasn’t such a fucking turn-on. It would only make taking his time more difficult. If she’d been anyone else, he would have laid down the law; the bedroom was his domain.

He was in control here. He made the rules.

But she wasn’t anyone else. She was the woman of his dreams. He would still be in control when push came to shove, but he would take it slow.

He stopped at the bed, looked down at her. “We’re playing by my rules now, Nora. Now please take off your clothes.”

A small smile crept onto her face as she stared him down through the moonlight making its way into the room. He thought she might argue, rebel. Instead she sat up, pulled off her T-shirt. His eyes were still glued to the magnificent swell of her breasts, barely hidden by a lacy pink bra, when she unbuttoned her jeans, lowered the zipper, lifted her hips off the bed as she shimmied them down her hips.

He almost couldn’t breathe as she tossed them aside, her porcelain skin glowing in the darkness. She was naked except for the bra and a matching scrap of fabric that covered the mound between her legs, just enough hidden to push his imagination into overdrive.

When she spoke, her voice was husky. “That’s as far as I go without you. You’re going to have to meet me halfway, Kane.”

He stripped off his shirt, then unbuttoned his pants, dropped them to the floor. His cock sprang free, both a relief and further torture with the refuge of Nora’s body so close.

He stood at the edge of the bed, ran his palms up her delicate feet to the shapely calves. Then he hooked his hands behind her knees and pulled her to the edge of the bed.

He knelt between her legs, inhaling the scent of her. “I think you’ll find I’m willing to meet you more than halfway.”

Release Blitz & Review - Ripple Effect, Episode 3 by Keri Lake

From the author of Ricochet and Backfire comes a dark erotic suspense serial ...

Episode Three: In the underbelly, trust is everything, and Dylan will soon discover that Ripley trusts no one. With the return of an old threat, loyalty is on the line, and betrayal could mean the end of everything for both of them.

Series Synopsis:

Ripley

They call me RIP.
I’m a killer. A murderer. A psychopath.
In the eyes of the righteous, I’m a monster, born of sin and depravity.
I want to protect her, but I’m not a good man.
I want to love her, but I no longer feel.
She gets under my skin, though, and has awakened something inside of me.
Something I’d kill for.
I’m not her savior—not even close. In fact, I’m worse than the hell she’s already suffered.
I’m her vengeance. Tit for tat, as they say.
And if she’s not careful, I’ll be her ruin.

Dylan

For months, I’ve watched him.
I’ve fantasized him as my savior, my lover. My ticket out of the hell I’ve lived in for the last six years.
I never dreamed he’d be my nightmare.
Had I known what he really is, I’d have never gotten in the car that night, but life is full of cause and effect.
And sometimes the choice on offer isn’t a choice at all.
It’s the result of something already in motion, and we’re merely left to survive the ripple effect.

*This is an erotic suspense/erotic romance not recommended for readers under the age of 18 due to graphic violence and sex

I sit on the edge of the bathtub, breathing through my nose to keep from throwing up whatever’s left in my stomach.  An incessant tremble runs beneath my skin, stirring up nausea in my gut.

“It just … came out of nowhere.  I felt sick.”  The glass of water passed to me diverts my attention, and I glance up at Ripley’s massive form looming over me, arms crossed.  “That smell.  Something about the smell on your hands.”
“Bleach.”
“Were you cleaning something?”  I take a small sip of the water, nervous that I might not be able to keep it from coming back up.
“Blood,” is all he says, as if I’m not supposed to ask.
To hell with that.  I’d rather talk about what he did than focus on my embarrassment, because I have no explanation for why I freaked out.
“Your blood?”
“No.”
“I could really use the distraction right now.”  Dropping my shoulders, I sigh.  “Humor me?”
His jaw shifts, and maybe I wasn’t supposed to ask him about his work.  Maybe it’s all classified or the hitman equivalent. Whatever.  I know Ripley’s not a good man.  That he does bad things. But I’ve come to the understanding that no one in the underbelly is good.  So I really don’t give a shit if I’m not supposed to ask.
“I killed a man.”  His eyes are trained on me—one blue and one hazel, neither of them so much as flinching with his confession.
“How?”
The line of tension that stiffens his shoulders sags, and he smiles down at me.  “Is that where we’re at now, Bandit?  You’re so comfortable around me to ask the details of my kills?”
“You don’t have to give me details.”  I don’t even realize I’m fidgeting until I look down to see the red streak where I’ve scratched my knuckles.
“Shot him.  Square in the skull.”
I keep my gaze glued to my hands, imagining the scenario.  Ripley’s big menacing body standing over the man who begs for his life.  Horrible.  Yet somehow it takes me away from whatever nightmare I suffered moments ago.  “Did you burn him with acid?”
“No.  He was a merciful kill.”
“Merciful?  Are any of them worth mercy?”  The sneer in my voice takes me by surprise and tipping my head back, I just catch the shake of his head.  “If you were going to kill me, how would you do it?”
Ignoring my question, he jerks his head toward the glass of water in my hand.  “Are you feeling better?”
My cheeks warm with embarrassment, and I’m glad he doesn’t answer.  It was a stupid question.  “Yeah.  It went away.”
“What exactly was it?”
The nervous vibration still skitters along my bones, but I shrug.  “I wish I knew.  Ripley?  Are you going to throw me out?”
“Why are you asking that?”
“Because you’ve … not asked me for anything.  Is the deal off?”  I lodge my fingers though my hair, gripping tight to my skull.  Teetering on the line of sobriety has fucked with my head and I’ve become deathly afraid of what I’d do for those pills outside of these walls. “I know I screwed up with the drugs.  And I wasn’t … I didn’t want to steal from you.  But I can’t go back on the streets.  I can’t.  I already know I’ll die out there.  I don’t know what was up with the bleach, but it has nothing to do with drugs.  I promise.”
A good ten seconds of silence follows before he says, “Deal’s not over yet.”

I'm devouring these Episodes and I didn't think they could get better but i was wrong! All of these Episodes are edge of seat reading. We are continuing with this dark, edgy, gritty and intense story of Ripley and Dylan.

Both Dylan and Ripley know they should stay away from each other but they are growing more and more connected. And even though they struggle with these feelings they can't stay away from each other.

My little Bandit. My goddamn Ruin."

Within this Episode we find out more about their cruel past's. It really does give more of an understanding of why and where they are in their lives.

He's not my saviour. He's an angel with black wings. A dealer of death. My ruin."

Ripley and Dylan are very intriguing characters. Keri Lake has given us an amazing dark twisted read and after that cliff hanger my heart is in my mouth!! and  i can't wait for Episode 4.
